Kitty Transport to Atlanta!
At Four Paws Rescue and Shelter, when each cat and kitten has received all of the necessary attention...including veterinary exam + medical treatments, tests, vaccinations and socialization...they can be declared ready for a Forever Home! This is where our partnership with the Atlanta Humane Society comes into play. Once a month Jerry and Elaine transport up to 20 cats and kittens, often including some from neighboring local rescues. Once there, all undergo a Pre-intake exam. Once accepted they will be scheduled for spay/neuter (if needed) and have their photo shoot to be posted on the website seeking adoption.

Although each transport brings a feeling of relief, as this group of kitties has arrived at the best possible place to find their Forever Homes, it's always bittersweet for Jerry and Elaine. Some arrived at Four Paws with illnesses or injuries and needed to be nursed back to health. Others were strays or "dumped" by an owner who no longer wanted them. These cats often stay for weeks or even months. The toughest to let go? The "bottle babies" who arrive as orphans and are totally dependent on Jerry and Elaine for round-the-clock feeding and snuggling, play and LOVE!
