Four Paws Rescue and Shelter

Kitty accomodations
When Jerry and Elaine "retired" in 2018 and relocated from Pennsylvania to their new home in South Carolina, the first order of business was creating housing for all of the cats they loved and considered family. The move included five of their own house cats, a feral colony of thirteen that they'd been caring for, as well as rescue dog Ripley. Jerry and Elaine had not planned to continue rescue operations after their move, but within weeks of their arrival they found 3 eight-week-old kittens at the local dump/recycle center. As the area Cat Community soon learned about Jerry and Elaine...saying "NO" to kitties in need was not an option! Suddenly Four Paws Rescue and Shelter had a new home in South Carolina!

01
Home addition for feral cats
This 16 X 16 "Catified" home addition is accessed off the back porch of the main house. It was originally built for the feral cats when they were relocated from Pennsylvania. It has open space and built-in pens and climbing areas. The heat and AC keep the permanent residents comfortable year round. They also enjoy their freedom, as a kitty door allows access to a 16 X 32 fully fenced outdoor run on concrete slab for easy maintenance.
02
The Quarantine house
This 16 X 12 insulated, fenced structure houses FIV+ and at-risk community cats. Currently there are 8 residents. The facility includes quarantine cages, electricity, heating and AC, as well as multiple outdoor heated cat houses.

03
Kitty Cottage
This 12 X 32 finished building was generously donated to Four Paws and houses kittens, as well as 4 permanent senior cats. It contains indoor pens for separation of litters of kittens and a fenced-in porch for outdoor enrichment.

No Place Like Home
As wonderful and necessary as the above buildings are, they will never take the place of Jerry and Elaine's home for the care, nurturing, and socializing that they provide sick and injured cats, as well as tiny orphaned kittens who need round-the-clock feeding and love. Their guest rooms are reserved for feline visitors only!
