Partnering with PetSmart in Elkton, Maryland, Four Paws was able to utilize adoption events to find loving homes for many cats and kittens over the years. This relationship continued even after Jerry and Elaine retired and relocated to South Carolina in 2018. When it was clear that feral and needy cats would continue to find their way to their door, Jerry and Elaine picked up right where they'd left off when leaving Pennsylvania. Unfortunately the very rural nature of the new location made it difficult to find folks looking to adopt, so they chose to transport adoption-ready kitties all the way back to Pet Smart in Maryland, a 10 hour drive!

Eventually the long distance trips became unsustainable, but a new (and closer!) relationship was formed with the Atlanta Humane Society. Now transport is just 3.5 hours and Four Paws is on a regular monthly transport schedule with 10-20 cats/kittens per trip! The very best part of this relationship is the assurance that there are folks ready to provide forever homes for all the Four Paws kitties!
